The City of Torencia

I was reminiscing about some of my creations for NWN and took a look at my City of Torencia.  I put it up on the vault a while back and moved on to building other stuff.. I’ve used the city as part of my DM’d adventures.. it’s part of a continent of my old PnP world I designed and put into NWN.. maybe I’ll make that into a download.. it’s over 100 areas… including this city it has the town of Blue Cradle.

Anyway.. what struck me is that it’s crept up to 200 downloads. I wonder if anyone is actually using any of it.. the only comments I’ve ever gotten on it is one guy saying it wouldn’t load.. which it does… But.. I figured out of 200 downloads I’d have one criticism.. or compliment.. maybe even a vote… guess not.

Torencia was a fun build.. it all links up.. 8×8 areas for good on-line gaming speed.. I think I want to dust it off and do some DMing… hmmm.

Kid1 and BMX

Well.. it’s getting close to time to see if Kid1 (who turns 6 in a few days) wants to ride BMX.. he loves to ride his bike.. we’re going to see if he likes to ride it on a BMX track pretty soon.

Here is a photo of him when he first got his bike.. it’s not really a BMX racing bike.. it’s very heavy.. it’s a Department store Klunker.. but it will suffice to see if he likes the sport.

The biggest expense is going to be the helmet.. we just bought a full-face helmet for him.. (not pictured).

Neversummer 5

I did a NWN2 area a few months back for use in a Persistent World (PW) that’ll be launching this winter. Its Neversummer5. They’ve had a long run with NWN1 and wanted to have a solid offering before going live with their NWN2 entry.

My area is a rugged, crater wall.. a lot of fun to design. I started with my knowledge of Utah’s canyon country then added a big slope. It should be a lot of fun to fight from different levels.

You can fire spells down to someone below.. far below.

Anyway, they’ve contacted me again about working on a more permanent basis. They’ve mentioned it a few times but time always seems against me in this. What with the Podcast, Treasure Island, Jack, Wizard of Oz and now I’m writing some for Misery Stone.. and that’s just to mention the things I’ve actually started with NWN2.. But if would be very cool to work with a team on a PW.

So.. I guess I’ll find out how much of a time commitment we’re talkin’ about. I don’t wanna be one of those guys that joins teams and leaves them on a whim.

Here are some screen shots of that area I made for the project… look for the PW soon!
